cgit software package provides hyperfast web frontend for git repositories written in C, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cgit
cgit is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cgit package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cgit *
You will get with cgit package name, version, architecture and description in a table
